Weeding Services in Milton Keynes

Weeding your garden

The practice of weeding is essential to maintain healthy plants in your garden borders and flowerbeds. If weeds are left they will compete with your plants for light, nutrients and water preventing or slowing down growth of flowers and small shrubs and often smothering them.

Effective weeding involves removing these unwanted plants, including their roots, to prevent regrowth.

Weeds on hard surfaces like patios, driveways and paths can be very slippery when wet and should be removed for safety.

Weeding is best carried out at least once a fortnight to reduce seeds spreading.

Basic hand tools required are a hand fork, weeding knife, claw and a hoe.

A weed barrier and mulch is also crucial to prevent seeds from germinating.

Above all your garden will look much tidier once weeded.

Some before and after photos of weeding jobs

Overgrown weeds in a back garden, astroturf , gravel pathway and planted border.

A Victorian back yard in need of a good weeding. It was mostly dandelions, thistle, grasses and a few brambles in the border and gravel areas. We were asked to take it all out.

We pulled and dug out by hand all weeds then raked and levelled the gravel. Finally we trimmed up the bush and swept the astroturf of all debris leaving it in perfect order for the family to enjoy.

We were called out to a home in Newport Pagnell to do a big tidy up in the back garden. On arrival we noticed how badly this gravel area at the front of the house needed weeding.

Firstly all weeds were removed from the gravel, dug out from the shrubs, potted plants and scraped from the path gaps and paving circle. Afterwards raking over the gravel making it neat and tidy.
